Work Well

Mission Statement

To create a workplace culture that fosters healthy behaviors and provides an environment that will support employees and their families in improving their health and overall well-being

Jessica Sheets is the Wellness Coordinator for The Rasmussen Group, located in Des Moines, Iowa. She is a graduate of Drake University and has worked in corporate wellness since 2015. Prior to joining The Rasmussen Group, she worked on contract with the Polk County Health Department in Des Moines for 6 years as a consultant for worksites through a federal grant opportunity, and taught chronic disease self-management workshops in the community. Jessica is a health coach certified through the Iowa Chronic Care Consortium’s Clinical Health Coach Training. In addition, she is a certified facilitator in the American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking program, earning her the American Lung Association’s Iowa Chapter Volunteer of the Year in 2014.

At The Rasmussen Group, Jessica oversees the company’s voluntary employee wellness program (Work Well) and all other wellness-related activities. The Work Well program is offered to both employees and their spouses. It is an outcomes-based program designed to help employees improve their overall health and well-being. The program offers incentives for participating in activities such as company health screenings, annual physicals, preventative exams, and health coaching. It also incorporates fun team challenges and quarterly activities focused on whole health.

Since her start with The Rasmussen Group, Jessica has also been developing and implementing strategies to help improve the culture of the company. She has done this by using targeted approaches to integrating wellness into every aspect of the company in an effort to to boost employee morale, improve retention rates, increase productivity, and create an environment that makes the healthy choice the easy choice.

A piece of Jessica’s heart will always remain with public health, and she knows if she can continue to help improve the health of Rasmussen employees who live, work, and play in our community, she can help the community as a whole.
