Twin bridges carry both EB and WB lanes of US Hwy 20 over the Iowa River in North Central Iowa. The overall bridge length if 1,630' including a 5 span steel unit of 1,510' and 60" prestressed concrete girder approach spans on each end. The superstructure is supported on 120' tall concrete hammerhead piers with caps long enough to support both bridges. The two center piers are supported on 8' diameter drilled shafts extending nearly 90' to bedrock. The remaining piers are founded on driven piles.
