This 2,247′ long bridge carries Route 19 over the Missouri River. It is a ten span structure with a maximum span of 460′. The main river unit is a four span continuous steel structure. The superstructure is parallel flange steel plate girders (11′-6″ web depth) for spans over the river and pre-stressed concrete girders for approach spans one either end. The bridge carries a 44′ wide roadway and barrier-protected 8′ bike and pedestrian path. The river spans are supported on hammer head wall piers founded on drilled shafts. The replacement bridge was built just offset the existing thru truss bridge, which was used to carry traffic during construction of the bridge.
